DELL'ACCADIA

1001 still births line the ceiling, winged heads made into stars in limbo while the one divine child that was allowed to live greets us from his mother’s lap.

The sycophants and the hierophants crowd to crown in doubt the Virgin; Politicians of their time

The mother and child will appears every century thereafter, saints and the popes at their side to join in the picture taking.

Saint Peter stands apart when he is not hanging upside down while Saint Sebastian wears his arrows in every story told of him so far.

The other men who survive become academics; black haired men in black robes with white ruffle collars standing together in the cool dark rooms next to green velvet drapes attempting to hide their confusion at the assumption.
